Pickwick Tea was originally known under the brand name of its Dutch manufacturer, Douwe Egberts. In 1753, the Douwe Egberts family opened a small shop in Holland that sold coffee, tea and tobacco. Their tea logo displayed a drawing of an English mail coach, despite being a Dutch company. The logo became so popular and recognizable that the company decided to match their logo with an English brand name for their tea. In 1937, the wife of a director at Douwe Egberts suggested a name inspired by Dickens' novel “Pickwick Papers.”
Since then, Pickwick Tea has expanded throughout Europe and is known as a gourmet tea producer that offers teas at an affordable price. Its specialty fruity infusions are available even in the US and add a refreshingly sweet twist on an established flavor.
