Les Confitures a l'Ancienne is changing it's name to Andresy a l'Ancienne.
A l'Ancienne roughly translates to “the old-fashioned way,” and Andresy a l’Ancienne follows the traditions of making old-fashioned hot chocolate. The founder, René Walther, and his wife Jocelyne started by cooking the fruits in the surrounding orchards. Once cooked they would sell them to the neighboring retail shops and market places. They were helped by the boatmen’s wives of the port of Conflans St Honorine who during the off-season were behind the copper pans cooking delicious jams, fruit pastes and syrups. The family has been in business since 1952.
It starts with selecting only the finest cocoa beans, then, using an age-old recipe, processing them into classic drinking chocolate.
