The Stroopwafel or Dutch Carmel Cookie is a delicious and unique type of cookie that has been around for centuries. Its origins date back to 1784 when a baker from the Netherlands created this delightful cookie.
Traditional Stroopwafels are made with two thin waffle-type wafers which are cooked at a high temperature on a waffle iron, sliced in half and filled with a rich caramel filling.
Stroopwafels are delicious any way you eat them, but for a real treat place them on top of a hot cup of coffee until the caramel is warmed through. If you can’t wait that long put them in the microwave for just a few seconds and enjoy!
